an existing
copyright application
cannot be registered.

dynamic content?
Keep in mind that work must be fixed or static,
in order to qualify for Copyright. Dynamic
content, by nature, changes; and therefore,
cannot be submitted for Copyright. Keep in
mind that Flash animation, audio, and video
are not dynamic in nature and will be included
as part of your submission. Additionally,
we can also register databases. So, just
because something is displayed dynamically
does not mean that it cannot be registered.

How
long does copyright protection last?
For many items, a copyright
will last up to 70 years after the death
of the copyright registrant, or owner.
For many works made for hire, such as most
web sites, the term can be 95 years from
the date the material was first published
or 120 years from when the material was
created. For more specific concerns, we
recommend you consult with an attorney.
Do
I get a refund if my submission is not
accepted?
The US Copyright Office has sole discretion
as to whether copyright protection is granted.

no refunds are made for work that is denied.
